With the new V1000A, ESX is launching an active subwoofer specifically designed for discerning audiophiles. It's part of the VISION family, which includes only the highest-quality products from the ESX range. In the case of the V1000A, this means that particular attention has been paid to achieving the best possible sound, impulse response, and deep bass extension – all within the smallest possible dimensions!

The V1000A was developed with the aim of combining maximum bass extension with high precision in a compact enclosure. The challenge is that while modern woofers can deliver impressive bass reproduction from a small volume, they often suffer from reduced efficiency or design compromises. To avoid these conflicting objectives, the V1000A utilizes an actively driven driver in combination with two precisely tuned passive radiators. This principle is functionally equivalent to a bassreflex system – but without the traditional port. With very low-tuned bass-reflex enclosures like the Vision Box, very long reflex ports would be required, which are difficult to integrate mechanically. Furthermore, high air velocities in the port can lead to airflow noise and compression effects. The passive radiators of the V1000A, on the other hand, take over the function of the air mass in the reflex port. Their moving mass defines the tuning frequency of the system, while their mechanical damping controls the impulse response. The result: powerful, controlled bass from a compact volume – free from airflow noise and with stable air spring control even below the tuning frequency. Truly controlled bass from a VISION subwoofer box!

Powering the system is a potent 10-inch (25 cm) subwoofer with a large 50 mm voice coil, driven by the integrated Class D active module. The efficient amplifier delivers 325 watts RMS and achieves an efficiency of up to 87% – meaning maximum performance with minimal power loss. For optimal sound tuning, low-pass filters with 12 or 18 dB slopes, bass boost, and a phase switch are available. The signal can be input via RCA inputs or high-level inputs with automatic turn-on. The included bass level remote control and a detachable power plug for power and remote connection are also very practical, allowing for quick and easy removal of the speaker from the vehicle. Visually, the V1000A impresses with elegant protective grilles, a high-quality ESX logo embroidery, and an overall sophisticated, modern appearance.
